CVSS v3.1 |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
bpf, sockmap: Reject sk_msg egress redirects to non-TCP sockets
With a SOCKMAP/SOCKHASH map and an sk_msg program user can steer messages
sent from one TCP socket (s1) to actually egress from another TCP
socket (s2):
tcp_bpf_sendmsg(s1) // = sk_prot->sendmsg
tcp_bpf_send_verdict(s1) // __SK_REDIRECT case
tcp_bpf_sendmsg_redir(s2)
tcp_bpf_push_locked(s2)
tcp_bpf_push(s2)
tcp_rate_check_app_limited(s2) // expects tcp_sock
tcp_sendmsg_locked(s2) // ditto
There is a hard-coded assumption in the call-chain, that the egress
socket (s2) is a TCP socket.
However in commit 122e6c79efe1 ("sock_map: Update sock type checks for
UDP") we have enabled redirects to non-TCP sockets. This was done for the
sake of BPF sk_skb programs. There was no indention to support sk_msg
send-to-egress use case.
As a result, attempts to send-to-egress through a non-TCP socket lead to a
crash due to invalid downcast from sock to tcp_sock:

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
RDMA/siw: Fix connection failure handling
In case immediate MPA request processing fails, the newly
created endpoint unlinks the listening endpoint and is
ready to be dropped. This special case was not handled
correctly by the code handling the later TCP socket close,
causing a NULL dereference crash in siw_cm_work_handler()
when dereferencing a NULL listener. We now also cancel
the useless MPA timeout, if immediate MPA request
processing fails.
This patch furthermore simplifies MPA processing in general:
Scheduling a useless TCP socket read in sk_data_ready() upcall
is now surpressed, if the socket is already moved out of
TCP_ESTABLISHED state. |

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ksmbd: validate session id and tree id in the compound request
This patch validate session id and tree id in compound request.
If first operation in the compound is SMB2 ECHO request, ksmbd bypass

If secound request in the compound access work->sess or tcon, It cause
NULL pointer dereferecing error. |

It was caused by srv->listener that might be set to null by
tipc_topsrv_stop() in net .exit whereas it's still used in
tipc_topsrv_accept() worker.
srv->listener is protected by srv->idr_lock in tipc_topsrv_stop(), so add
a check for srv->listener under srv->idr_lock in tipc_topsrv_accept() to
avoid the null-ptr-deref. To ensure the lsock is not released during the
tipc_topsrv_accept(), move sock_release() after tipc_topsrv_work_stop()
where it's waiting until the tipc_topsrv_accept worker to be done.
Note that sk_callback_lock is used to protect sk->sk_user_data instead of
srv->listener, and it should check srv in tipc_topsrv_listener_data_ready()
instead. This also ensures that no more tipc_topsrv_accept worker will be
started after tipc_conn_close() is called in tipc_topsrv_stop() where it
sets sk->sk_user_data to null. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
scsi: iscsi: iscsi_tcp: Fix null-ptr-deref while calling getpeername()
Fix a NULL pointer crash that occurs when we are freeing the socket at the
same time we access it via sysfs.
The problem is that:
1. iscsi_sw_tcp_conn_get_param() and iscsi_sw_tcp_host_get_param() take
the frwd_lock and do sock_hold() then drop the frwd_lock. sock_hold()
does a get on the "struct sock".
2. iscsi_sw_tcp_release_conn() does sockfd_put() which does the last put
on the "struct socket" and that does __sock_release() which sets the
sock->ops to NULL.
3. iscsi_sw_tcp_conn_get_param() and iscsi_sw_tcp_host_get_param() then
call kernel_getpeername() which accesses the NULL sock->ops.
Above we do a get on the "struct sock", but we needed a get on the "struct
socket". Originally, we just held the frwd_lock the entire time but in
commit bcf3a2953d36 ("scsi: iscsi: iscsi_tcp: Avoid holding spinlock while
calling getpeername()") we switched to refcount based because the network
layer changed and started taking a mutex in that path, so we could no
longer hold the frwd_lock.
Instead of trying to maintain multiple refcounts, this just has us use a
mutex for accessing the socket in the interface code paths. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
drm/vmwgfx: Validate the box size for the snooped cursor
Invalid userspace dma surface copies could potentially overflow
the memcpy from the surface to the snooped image leading to crashes.
To fix it the dimensions of the copybox have to be validated
against the expected size of the snooped cursor. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
net/tunnel: wait until all sk_user_data reader finish before releasing the sock
There is a race condition in vxlan that when deleting a vxlan device
during receiving packets, there is a possibility that the sock is
released after getting vxlan_sock vs from sk_user_data. Then in
later vxlan_ecn_decapsulate(), vxlan_get_sk_family() we will got
NULL pointer dereference. e.g.

This happens because of data race. Each thread rewrite channels's
descriptor as soon as device_prep_dma_memcpy() is called. It leads to the
situation when the driver thinks that it uses right descriptor that
actually is freed or substituted for other one.
With current fixes a descriptor changes its value only when it has
been used. A new descriptor is acquired from vc->desc_issued queue that
is already filled with descriptors that are ready to be sent. Threads
have no direct access to DMA channel descriptor. Now it is just possible
to queue a descriptor for further processing. |

ftrace_startup does not remove ops from ftrace_ops_list when

When ftrace_disabled = 1, unregister_ftrace_function simply returns without doing anything:
unregister_ftrace_function

HID: nintendo: fix rumble worker null pointer deref
We can dereference a null pointer trying to queue work to a destroyed

If the device is disconnected, nintendo_hid_remove is called, in which

This eliminates the null pointer dereference. |

The recent commit 87d0e2f41b8c ("usb: typec: ucsi: add a common
function ucsi_unregister_connectors()") introduced a regression that
caused NULL dereference at reading the power supply sysfs. It's a
stale sysfs entry that should have been removed but remains with NULL
ops. The commit changed the error handling to skip the entries after
a NULL con->wq, and this leaves the power device unreleased.
For addressing the regression, the straight revert is applied here.
Further code improvements can be done from the scratch again. |

ALSA: pcm: oss: Fix race at SNDCTL_DSP_SYNC
There is a small race window at snd_pcm_oss_sync() that is called from
OSS PCM SNDCTL_DSP_SYNC ioctl; namely the function calls
snd_pcm_oss_make_ready() at first, then takes the params_lock mutex
for the rest. When the stream is set up again by another thread
between them, it leads to inconsistency, and may result in unexpected
results such as NULL dereference of OSS buffer as a fuzzer spotted
recently.
The fix is simply to cover snd_pcm_oss_make_ready() call into the same
params_lock mutex with snd_pcm_oss_make_ready_locked() variant. |

there is a gap between this insert and bc link creation, a bc packet

This patch is to fix it by moving the bc link creation before inserting

scsi: lpfc: Fix null pointer dereference after failing to issue FLOGI and PLOGI
If lpfc_issue_els_flogi() fails and returns non-zero status, the node
reference count is decremented to trigger the release of the nodelist
structure. However, if there is a prior registration or dev-loss-evt work
pending, the node may be released prematurely. When dev-loss-evt
completes, the released node is referenced causing a use-after-free null
pointer dereference.
Similarly, when processing non-zero ELS PLOGI completion status in
lpfc_cmpl_els_plogi(), the ndlp flags are checked for a transport
registration before triggering node removal. If dev-loss-evt work is
pending, the node may be released prematurely and a subsequent call to
lpfc_dev_loss_tmo_handler() results in a use after free ndlp dereference.
Add test for pending dev-loss before decrementing the node reference count
for FLOGI, PLOGI, PRLI, and ADISC handling. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
f2fs: fix dereference of stale list iterator after loop body
The list iterator variable will be a bogus pointer if no break was hit.
Dereferencing it (cur->page in this case) could load an out-of-bounds/undefined
value making it unsafe to use that in the comparision to determine if the
specific element was found.
Since 'cur->page' *can* be out-ouf-bounds it cannot be guaranteed that
by chance (or intention of an attacker) it matches the value of 'page'
even though the correct element was not found.
This is fixed by using a separate list iterator variable for the loop
and only setting the original variable if a suitable element was found.
Then determing if the element was found is simply checking if the
variable is set. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
xprtrdma: treat all calls not a bcall when bc_serv is NULL
When a rdma server returns a fault format reply, nfs v3 client may
treats it as a bcall when bc service is not exist.
The debug message at rpcrdma_bc_receive_call are,
[56579.837169] RPC: rpcrdma_bc_receive_call: callback XID
00000001, length=20
[56579.837174] RPC: rpcrdma_bc_receive_call: 00 00 00 01 00 00 00
00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 04
After that, rpcrdma_bc_receive_call will meets NULL pointer as,
